Danse Macabre 2.0

I love the medieval image theme called the Danse Macabre, the Totentanz, or the Dance of Death. It depicts people from every level of medieval society meeting their fate, and Death itself is depicted as a cheerful cadaver. Rather than being frightening, the images are almost fun. I decided to update the Danse Macabre, exposing contemporary types to their demise. Just to up the stakes, Death is playing “instruments” related to each figure.

NOW AVAILABLE FOR PURCHASE AS A LIMITED EDITION ART BOOK, with original text, introduction by Caitlin Doughty, and bonus medieval source material!
